DODGE 440 BIG BLOCK V8 CHRYSLER VALIANT PLYMOUTH SEYMOUR VIC Ph 0409 254 505 This is a 1978 Mopar 440 This engine has had a rebuild at some point in its life The crankshaft has been ground 10 thou on both the mains and the big ends. Just for good measure we rolled a set of bearings into it. The pistons have been replaced but as we didn’t pull the heads off we don’t know the bore size.

The engine runs beautifully, it doesn’t blow smoke or rattle
In the video of it running its at operating temp and has 40psi oil pressure at idle. We only used a 15/40 oil because that’s what we had, but with the right weight oil the pressure will increase.
The compression of the engine is excellent with only 8 psi difference over the whole engine
It has a low of 122psi and a high of 130psi
The engine DOESN’T COME WITH the engine mounts, starter, bell housing, convertor, flex plate, headers, carby or spacers. We need those to run other engines
IT COMES WITH the new distributor, leads, spark plugs as well as the pullies, alternator and bracket
Mopar big blocks are getting harder to find in the States and good ones are even harder to find.
